The next line belongs to everyone

Three rounds.
An ending nobody expected.

Write an opening. Invite your coauthors. Each round, everyone proposes what happens next and votes for the paragraph that becomes part of the story. Finish a short episode instead of an endless draft.

Collaborative story writing with a real ending

Canonfall is a shared writing room where your group decides which paragraphs become part of the story. Choose an opening of your own or use one of the supplied writing seeds.

Canonfall · Example walkthrough

1 / 3

At midnight, the library grew a door.

Your opening is just the beginning.

Begin with one opening

Example: “At midnight, the library grew a door.” Start a story and invite your coauthors.

This replays one fixed example, not a live session. Nothing is saved. Open the activity to make your own result.

Read all three steps
  1. Begin with one opening. Example: “At midnight, the library grew a door.” Start a story and invite your coauthors.
  2. Propose a twist and vote. Each participant can propose a continuation and vote once in the round. These example votes are illustrative.
  3. Let the winning paragraph in. The host accepts the most-voted continuation. Repeat for the chosen three to ten rounds, ending with a finished story.

What can you do with the result? Read your finished story together, keep the full text, or share a picture of an excerpt with your coauthors’ permission.

  1. Create a story and choose three to ten voting rounds.
  2. Invite coauthors to propose a paragraph and cast one vote per browser participant in each round.
  3. The host accepts the most-voted continuation. Finish the final round with an ending, then read or export the story.

At least one vote is needed to close a round; ties favor the earlier proposal. Writing suggestions are prewritten prompts, not an AI author or an automatic movie-production service.

Does AI write the story for us?

No. Participants write and vote on the paragraphs. The optional starting prompts are prewritten examples, not a live AI author.
