Rotate the pieces. Match their anchors. Fill the board without overlaps.

Preparing your saved journey…

Every piece has its place

A standalone geometric puzzle: use each irregular piece once to cover the board, matching its anchors without overlaps. No Sudoku numbers or queens.

  1. Choose a loose piece and rotate it. Its white dot marks the first occupied square.
  2. Tap the board to preview, then press Place. Cover every matching lettered anchor and no other piece’s anchors.
  3. Fill the board without gaps or overlaps. Return or Undo lets you revise; complete one puzzle to unlock the next.

Fit the shape, not just its letter

Imagine an L-shaped piece A occupying the three A squares below. Its placement is legal only if it covers every A anchor, stays inside the board, and covers neither an occupied square nor another piece’s anchor. Matching one letter is not enough: the rest of the shape must fit too. Rotate to try a different orientation; the white dot is the placement reference.

Pieces can turn but cannot flip. Most puzzles use 6×6 or 8×8 boards; 9×9, 16×16 and 32×32 each have one verified large-board challenge. Size is not a measured human difficulty rating.

Questions about Patches

What is a polyomino packing puzzle?

A polyomino is a shape made from squares joined along their edges. In HuddleJoy Patches you fit the supplied shapes into the board, using every piece once with no gaps or overlaps. You place existing pieces rather than draw new regions, clear lines, or solve numbers.

What do the letters and white dot mean?

Dashed letter badges mark fixed anchors; plain letters label pieces you have placed. Select the matching piece from the tray, rotate it, and use its white-dot square to position the preview. Press Place to commit. A piece cannot cover a different letter’s anchor.

Can I flip or move a patch I already placed?

Pieces rotate but cannot flip. Use Return to take a selected placed piece back to the tray, or Undo to revise the last move. Plan around awkward corners and narrow gaps before filling the easy open spaces.
