Make a little room

A pause can have a way back.

Prepare a message, choose a pause length, and give someone a key. They decide when to use it.

The person creating the room gives the keys; other people claim them through the invite.

Prepare your words before you need a pause

PauseKey lets you prepare an in-app reassurance and return message for someone you invite. Discuss the arrangement together before using the key.

Key ready

“Take your time. We can return to this.”

Prepare a reassuring message

Agree on a duration and words such as “Take your time. We can return to this.” Invite someone to claim a key.

This replays one fixed example, not a live session. Nothing is saved. Open the activity to make your own result.

Read all three steps
  1. Prepare a reassuring message. Agree on a duration and words such as “Take your time. We can return to this.” Invite someone to claim a key.
  2. The holder starts the pause. The reassurance appears while the chosen duration runs. The clock shown here is an illustration, not a live pause.
  3. Return after the chosen duration. The holder can resume or close the key once time has elapsed. A prepared return message helps start the conversation again.

What can you do with the result? Have your words ready when you want a pause. After returning, you can share a simple milestone card without exposing the private messages.

  1. Choose a duration, a reassuring message and a return message.
  2. Invite a recipient privately; they claim a one-use key.
  3. The holder starts the pause and can resume or close it after the chosen duration.

PauseKey does not mute Discord, block messages or send external notifications. It is a communication experiment, not a health or crisis service. An invite gives access to the shared messages.

Will PauseKey mute Discord or send notifications?

No. It displays messages and tracks the pause inside this app. It does not mute calls, block messages or send external notifications.
